1.The Title of Project: The Development of 427000 square meters Store-yard of Qinhuangdao Qinshan Chemical Harbor Co., Ltd

2.The Contents of Project: In order to improve the port’s comprehensive ability and make full use of port’s resource, we are going to develop the 427000 square meters natural store—yare.Establish sundry goods storage yard as well as storage tanks for various kinds of oit products and chemical(dangerous) products.

3.The General Investment of Project: 800 million US dollars

4.The Market Analysis: According to “the ninth 5-year planning” and 2010 long-range objective of Qinhuangdao, some important chemical projects will be built near the port, whose materials and products need to be handled through this port. For this reason, this project will have a bright future.

5.The Building Conditions: This project lies on 2 kilometers east of the third phase of Qinhuangdao Coal Port and 1.5 kilometers west of Sha River Gate. The store-yard is flat and without any building. The Jianshe Street, which is in the north of store-yard, connects with urban communication net and national road 102, coastal road and Jingshen highway. The Jingshen railway crosses the whole Qinhuangdao. There is Qinhuangdao East Railway Station-the last part of Jingshen railway in its west side, Longjiaying Railway Station-the end of Daqin railway in its north side. Its communication is convenient and the distance to residence area is far, so this area is reasonable for storing chemical products and dangerous articles.

6.The Analysis of Economic Performance: After the oil depot was finished, we could make use of the chance of Chinese entering WTO to attract some suppliers of finished oil product to get into China through our wharf and yard.

When the storing facilities of other chemical products was finished, our port will make big role to the development of Qinhuangdao’s chemical industry and become convenient port for coastal industry’s importing and exporting.

It’s a foregone conclusion that North China’s grain transports to South China. If the loose grain transport to Shanhaiguan from Northeast China, then store in our warehouse and get shipment here, it will not only shorten the transportation distance, but also reduce the pressure of urban communication and increase the port’s handling capacity at the same time. At present in Qinhuangdao, the handling capacity of some bulk cargo such as chemical fertilizer, grain, forage and cement is increasing step by step, so the water transportation will have a bright future. It will be another increasing point of port’s storing benefit.

7.The Progress of Project: We have finished the formalities about the land’s ownership and have got the land’s certificate of use. Administrative department has approved the planning of port’s chemical area.

8.The Present Situation of Corporation: This corporation is professional chemical (liquid) and sundry-goods port, which is composed of Hebei Province Construction Investment Corporation, Qinhuangdao Power Co., Ltd, Sino-Arab Chemical Fertilizer Co., Ltd and Qinhuangdao Science & Technology Investment Corporation, the ratio is as follow: 43.03%, 37.88%, 10.82%, 8.27%. Its main business is the handling of liquid chemical and oil products and the sundry-goods’ handling and storing. The registered capital is 64,748,500 Yuan (RMB).

At present, the investment has reached 160 million Yuan (RMB). Two 5000-ton berths have been built in the first phase of the port; one of them has reserved the ability of berthing 15,000-ton ship. The port is 282 meters in length and 65 meters in width, the mole is 496 meters in length and 15 meters in width, and the water depth of channel and harbor is 8.2 meters. There is sulfuric acid piping in the front part of the port, through which connect with tank area, a 10-ton portal crane, a 16-ton portal crane, an oil transmission boom, and some tools for sundry-goods’ handling. This port is neither frozen in winter nor silted, and convenient in communication. At present, its business scope includes chemical fertilizer, grain, forage, ore, steels, cement, glass and oil products. Since the port went into operation on Jul.13, 2001, its handling capacity increased rapidly, several sulfuric acid ship and sundry-goods ship have been unloaded here. Now, our corporation have not only signed long-term cooperation agreement with two large corporations-Sino-Arab Chemical Fertilizer Co., Ltd and Huaying Phosphoric Acid Co., Ltd., but also signed long-term cooperation letter of intent with several corporations, and all these cooperation are going on well. Based on the principle of providing convenience to customers and according to the customer’s needs, we not only prepared restaurant, high-class room, but also go through the formalities of frontier inspection, tugboat and piloting ship on behalf of customers.

Our corporation has professional personnel, complete foundation facilities (such as power, water, road, communication and so on) and perfect foreign service organization (such as frontier inspection, customs, harbor superintendence administration, quarantine, commodity inspection, agent of foreign ship and so on). All these organizations provide perfect services.
